Several types of Clay can be found in the Cliffs at Speeton, which are rich in Cretaceous period (around 65 to 142 million years ago) fossils, including Ammonites and Belemnites. Fossils are easy to find as you can pick them out of the clay or from the beach. Fish and shrimp fossils can also be found. Fossils have been found in this area for over a hundred years and a group known as the Friends of Speeton Clay still visits the area.

The best means of access to Speeton is by foot from Reighton Gap. Tides need to be checked.
