After two cancellations due to the poor Spring weather, we had perfect conditions on 26th April for a seashore visit by a Leeds School. Over the past few months there has been a lot of Cliff erosion on the Stretch between Filey’s Coble Landing and Filey Brigg. This has meant our beach fossil supply has been renewed and most of the youngsters found one to take away with them. Predictably given our foul Spring, shore life is off to a slow start this year but there were a few small crabs about and we were able to look at some smaller animals with our field and stereo microscopes.
It was a brilliant day and the enthusiasm and interest of our school visitors was a great morale booster for our volunteers. Thanks kids and teachers.
